Grand Teton National Park
I am a little behind in posting pictures on the blog. In this post I want to show you pictures of our trip to Grand Teton National Park which took place the first week of September.
Let's begin at the entrance to the Park.
Next let's just take a look at some of the amazing views of the Grand Teton Mountains.
We stayed at the Headwaters at Flagg Ranch Campground.
The boat dock where we caught a boat to go to Jenny Lake to hike beside the river.
On Sunday, we took Suzanne Gaskin's suggestion and attended worship services at the Episcopal Chapel of the Transfiguration. The people were friendly, the service was worshipful, and the view was incredible. The pictures at the bottom of this section show you the picture window at the front of the sanctuary. Wow!
Menors Ferry Historic District is not far from the Chapel. Until a bridge was built in the early 1930s I believe, the only way to cross the river was to take Menors Ferry

The Moulton Barns in Mormon Row Historic district are the most photographed barns in the country. Notice the mountains behind the first two photos.

Our favorite part of the Tetons was the Laurance S. Rockefeller Preserve. It is actually just outside the south entrance to the Park. It is such a peaceful and beautiful place. Unlike most NP visitor Centers this visitor center is simple and powerful. There is one room that has a topographic map of the area, another that has nothing on its walls and no displays. There are just benches all around the room to sit on and listen to the sounds of the park. You hear wolves howling, elk bugling, owls, rivers, thunderstorms, etc. Then in the final room there are 4 large screens that show scenes of the park through all four seasons, while the sounds play in the background. It was an incredible experience and if you only have time to do one thing make it the Laurence S. Rockefeller preserve. There are also beautiful trails to hike down to a lake where you often see all kinds of wildlife. The couple just behind us saw a bear cub cross the road in front of them.
Below are screen shots for the display screens.

Our trip to Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons will always be a favorite memory. Thanks for following. Soon I will post pictures of our time at Lake Ouachita with our dear friends Bill and Debbie Buck, our first Nomads project at a Church Camp near Clinton, Arkansas, and our time camping at DeGray Lake with our RV friends Marion and Rich Wait from Michigan. We are still in Arkansas right now but will be heading to Beaver's Bend State Park in Oklahoma for some time with Bekah and Clara and then on the North Texas.
