Mt. Hood with Bill and Debbie Buck
These pictures were taken on the drive to Mt. Hood from Hermiston. It was a beautiful drive.
And now Mt. Hood is in sight!
The pictures above were taken as we approached Mt Hood from Hermiston, Oregon before we picked Bill and Debbie up from the airport. Next You'll see some shots of Mt. Hood Village RV resort, including their tiny house village. The view out of the camper windows looked like we were in a jungle.
There were some really cute tiny houses that you can rent.
Me with my friend Smoky at the Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood.
More pictures from inside the Timberline Lodge built by the WPA during the depression.
The first shot below was taken straight up into the trees in the middle of the day in the forest near our campground.
After we picked Bill and Debbie up at the airport in Portland, we drove the scenic Highway 34 back to our campground. Along the way we stopped and hiked up to a couple of beautiful waterfalls. The first one is called Bridal Veil Falls and the second one is Multnomah Falls
The next several shots were taken on our hike to and around Mirror lake, so named because of the great reflection pictures of Mt. Hood in the Lake. However, the water was a little choppy the day we were there so the reflections pictures aren't as smooth as they are sometimes.
Now there will be some repeats because I have stolen some pictures from Bill's camera. Here we are back at the Falls on the trip from the airport.
Mirror Lake again.
This is how thick the smoke was at times because of several fires burning near Mt. Hood.
That ends our time at Mt. Hood. The next day we drove to Bend, Oregon and spent two nights there and then it was off to Crater Lake. Our first view of Crater Lake literally took my breath away. It was an amazing view. I'll share those pictures with you in my next post. In the meantime, stay cool.
