Salt Lake City, Utah

Well, we are back on the road again! We flew back to Salt Lake City on Thursday, June 7, spent the night in the Airport Inn and then picked up our camper on Friday and headed to the Pony Express RV resort in Salt Lake City for three nights. While we were staying there we reprovisioned our camper and saw some of the sights in SLC. We went downtown and spent a couple of hours walking around Temple Square. It was beautiful and very interesting.

We started off with a tour of Beehive House which was Brigham Young's home. Here are some pictures from both inside and outside of the home.

From the Beehive House we continued our walk through Downtown SLC. The downtown area is beautiful. Here are a few shots.

The Old Hotel Utah was purchased by the Mormon Church after it closed and renamed the Joseph Smith Building.

The Temple is an incredible structure, especially when you consider how and when it was built. Non members are not allowed inside the Temple but here are a few pictures of the outside.

The picture below is of a model of the Temple which shows every inside area in detail. It was meticulously done. For someone who loves dollhouses like I do this was amazing.

The Utah State Capitol Building.

That's the end of our morning in Salt Lake City. Stay tuned for pictures from Antelope Island State Park which is just outside of Salt Lake City.
